If you haven't had a chance to read the July 2008 issue of the New Mexico Magazine, there is an article highlighting Jim Harris and his contribution to the Lea County Museum. The article is written by my wonderful wife, freelance writer Ginger Granath.
Mr. Harris has put his heart and soul into making the museum one of the brightest spots in Lovington, Lea County, and the entire state.
Also, Mr. Harris has worked diligently to put together the Texas Playboys concert and street dance to take place at the Lea County Courthouse Square in Lovington on Saturday, July 5 at 7:00 p.m. as part of the Lovington Centennial Celebration. Admission is free. There will be a chuckwagon barbecue by renowned ranch chef Jerry Slate served from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. for $15 per plate.
My hat is off to Mr. Harris for his dedication to our community.
